Talk to us about Shigure's love for Akito and how it came about? Any headcanons surrounding this ship?

oh boy you’re giving me the big questions right off the bat aren’t we – i could go on and on about this for hours and hours but i can give you the main ones i have.

shigure, like most of the other zodiac, fell in love with akito in the dream. most of them though don’t take it as the type of love shigure did. his is corrupted and wrong at first, but he’s only being true to his animal – a dog is faithful and loyal but also – if you own a dog ( i personally own 4 and one is an australian shepherd ) you learn that they live for attention and affection. i personally cannot get rid of my dog when i visit home. hes all over me and follows me like i was gone for 5 years ( oops i moved out 5 years ago but thats not the point ). shigures love for akito grows when his parents, who never wanted him, tell him no one will love him. but here is his god that he was told loves all of their creatures, and shigure is one of them. so he becomes obsessed with akito. 

over time it starts to shift from his unconditional love of the zodiac curse to more shigure as a person falling for who akito was and how broken he and her mother had made her. now, don’t get me wrong, when @fatedgod and i ship this we both know this is toxic as can be until much much much later on. its manipulative on both sides ( akito sleeping with kureno in a way to grab shigures attention more and make him jealous and shigure sleeping with akitos mother to do the same as a revenge ) and shigure as a person is still manipulative and possessive as a person. even at the end he says ‘ if i get something once, i don’t want to let it out of my hand. i do not want any other to touch. ‘ he’s faithful to a possessive and disgusting way but – this is how his love works, and thats the love both akito and shigure love in each other.
