shigure knows even when younger that he can’t 100% pick her over everyone else. yes, he spends a lot of time with her, she ran to his side whenever she needed comfort, he would seek her out when he desperately wanted to see her as well. but at school it was him and his Best Buds™ and they are super important to him too. ayame is a constant positive person in his life and hatori is a voice of reason he never listens to ( but some days he has to ).
