        there’s a blink as shigure stands there, tea in hand as he peeks over his glasses towards the woman who so lively charged into his home. he would have to revoke that access if she was going to do this as frequently as she does.

eyes shift up from the paper and the tea the dog held in his other hand. he’s not sure exactly what brought this topic up in the first place, but he has to take it seriously, this wasn’t just a silly topic he could pass by. so the paper gets laid down, the mug gently placed on the table top as he looks over to her.

‘    i would hope not.    ‘        he doesn’t want to seem desperate or needy, like akito belonged to him as much as he believed it in the end. he had to stay calm, collected, lest the other would start to freak out on him.        ‘    we are dating now, are we not ?? kureno has moved on as well. but i’m sure one day he’ll visit.    ‘

there’s a moment where shigure pauses, eyes flicking over to the god as the two of them spend time together that day. it was no special day, the two just getting along at that point in time rather than their usual fighting without a buffer between them. he has to stop and lean closer to her, eyes narrow as he speaks.

his words aren’t hissed as he says this, simple calm, curious. shigure was happy on the outside only because he wouldn’t hurt anyone this way. his plans were all still pieced properly together after the fact that some things did go wrong. so hearing this was just a bit … odd from his view.

Kureno’s hands spasm as he closes his eyes, a muscle working in his jaw as he tries to maintain his composure. Damn the dog for being so thrice-cursed selfish! Kureno knows Shigure’s hatred for him runs deep, but surely the man can see the bigger picture here? That Akito is hurting, shattering, under the hands of her mother? “ It’s not about me. ” It has never been about him, at least as far as Kureno is concerned. “ Shigure, listen. If something’s not done, then you risk losing Akito forever. ” Her sanity would crumble.

‘    what do you want me to do, kureno ?? what can i do ?? yes, ren listens to me, but then that upsets akito the more i go near her. it isn’t a win win situation for any of us in the long run.    ‘        it could be worked around if someone could draw akito out of the house for a while, but even shigure is sure that the head wasn’t due for another business trip of any sort in the near future. fingers push through his hair as he narrows his eyes, towards the rooster than away and out towards the courtyard.        ‘    i’ll think of something.    ‘

‘    i see you’ve been pretty good these past few months, mayu !!    ‘        walking into the classroom in his usual yukata, shigure managed to catch her in class after hours. he looks around with a pleased hum, its rare he walked into schools again after all.
